From Her Perspective
The Sreedhars
A family isn't always by blood. It is about the people who love you and would do anything to make you happy, just like how Jaya Amma and Sreedhar Appa are!
Abi's parents are such loving and caring people. I never once felt like I was talking to my potential in-laws when I first met them. They were so down to earth and completely put me at ease. I especially love how open and fun-loving they are!
As our relationship progressed, it became quite apparent to me from where Abi got his charm, his sincerity, and his good heart. I especially, love how Jaya Amma and Sreedhar Appa are always smiling!
Sreedhar Appa loves to play pranks, pull my (and Abi's) leg, and shares lovely videos and quips while on his travels. Our conversations usually exciting and joke ridden! In turn, Jaya Amma can be described as an expert conversationalist. It is really easy to talk to her on a variety of subjects which makes our chats fun and entertaining. It really did not take much time to feel right at home with them and I feel quite lucky to have another set of such wonderful parents!
A very special mention goes to my sister (in law), Asha. She is a very smart, lovely, bold young woman, just about to embark on her dreams. I am so happy to have a sibling and feel so blessed to soon be a part of this family!!

The Chandrasekars
For those who know Niveta and her family, it is quite evident that they are rich in culture. One thing I really love about them is how they have always carried the threads of intricate family bonds, love, & cultural, value oriented up bringing.

Interactions initially made me feel like a VIP; a sudden blow of importance, significance, punctuations bestowed when being addressed. Was that ME, getting all the attention & being referred to?? However, despite the sudden pedestal (and spotlight), Niveta's parents put me at ease by doting on me like a son.

Niveta's dad, Sekar Appa, is without a doubt the most kindest, down-to-earth person. I really enjoy his timely jokes & his spontaneous humor. It is awe-inspiring to see how multi talented he is; such as, being an active participant as a percussionist in a jazz band & being a director for many successful plays/dramas in the Chicago area.
Likewise, Niveta's mother, Mala Amma is just as kind & fun-loving. Actually, more than a mom, I can see that she is Niveta's best friend, well-wisher, & a tough critic. It is in that same way that I enjoy our conversations of her pulling my leg, & feel just as comfortable in teasing her back. Her Theratipaal is definitely an added bonus!! Having such talented, loving parents, it is without a doubt that Nivi, and now, I, are quite blessed.
